Day +61

Rylie has been doing so great here at the RMH. I wish everyone could see her walking and smiling and laughing. We pretty much try to keep Rylie in our room, but we do take walks outside and I'm looking into finding a park with a swing close by for her. After being in the hospital room for so long, Rylie doesn't mind being a little isolated here. She just loves her freedom. She is walking like before transplant, and she is learning new things every day. It is amazing to watch her.

It looks like we are going to clinic about every other day for now. We're thrilled to have days off when we don't have to rush around to get to the clinic and then wait until we find out if Rylie needs blood or platelets. She's been doing better about stabilizing and even growing cells on her own, so we're encouraged. Rylie still needs O2, but we are weaning her down on the amount. We don't know how much longer she'll need it, but we think she is close to breathing without any extra help.

Now that we're back at the RMH, we keep thinking about when we can go home. The doctors haven't talked about it, but we'll probably need to be here until day +100 which is August 15. We're lucky to have a good hospital and staff back in Denver once we return who will follow Rylie. We'll need to come back to MN for a 6-month checkup and a year checkup.

Hi! I'm still checking in even when I don't post. I just wanted to tell you that I think the closest baby swing (I could be wrong though) is at the U in the courtyard where they had the turtle races.

Lauren is doing great and we are glad to hear good news from our Hurler friends!

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
