Not a Baby

Lately I've been overwhelmed with the fact that my baby isn't a baby anymore. She's becoming such a beautiful and independent little lady. When did that happen?

Rylie has been busy and just finished her last day of her second year of preschool. This year in preschool she has learned a lot of the sounds of letters, how to write her name (still working on penmanship), and how to be really silly! Rylie is so much more confident on the playground and is building friendships. She will be going to preschool another year starting in August, but we are moving her to a new preschool that is right by our house and is on the same campus as our neighborhood elementary school. She will still have the same speech therapist, PT, and OT at this school and the same curriculum. She will go four mornings a week next year.

Rylie and I are going to the University of Minnesota for Rylie's tests in June. This summer Rylie plans to visit her grandparents all by herself and build a bird house with Dad. She already took some private swimming lessons this spring, and we hope to do another week again this summer.

For years I've been crushing Rylie's thyroid medicine and adding water to give through a syringe. Just recently we tried just giving her the pill with a glass of water. Now she pops it in her mouth, takes a sip of water, and "feel it go down my throat!" This is so nice and easy! (And might help keep her levels more consistent?) She is really growing up.

We've really been blessed this year. Rylie has come so far in a year, and we know she'll just make more gains!
