Rylie is still requiring the pesky nose tube, and Lyle and I are trying to be patient. (Okay, so Lyle is always patient; I'm the one trying to be patient.) For whatever reason, the nose tube is very leaky and whenever I set her up for a "meal," there is nasty formula that ends up all over our house. In the highchair, on our furniture, on the carpet, all over the crib, in the stroller, in the car seat, the smell of vanilla pepamen junior formula permeates. Yuck. Well, I talked to the doctor about the issue, because we've finally gave up on feeding Rylie at nights because whenever I would check on her, her crib would be full of the stuff, and I would have to wake her up to change her bed, and that never ends good. The doctor said that it must be a problem with our supplies from the home care company since none of his other families have complained about leaking tubes, so I'm going to talk with them tomorrow. If they don't have a solution, the doctor said to change home care providers. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the mean time, Rylie is eating about 100 calories a day. She won't touch adult food, except for chips which she promptly takes a lick and throws to the floor. She hates anything that is different than what she already knows, but I still continue to try to offer other foods just in case someday she is feeling a little wild and crazy. She'll eat baby cereal, pasta dinner, chicken dinner, and some baby veggies.
Rylie's counts are still pretty good. The adenovirus test came back negative this week! YES! God has heard our prayers, and Rylie is kicking this bug in the pants. We're still praying that she continues to stay strong as flu and cold season approaches.
Rylie sends knuckles to all her fans out there.

She's looking stronger all the time.
Great news about the virus! :)
The feeding tube must be frustrating. Hope you get some action from the home health care group. Thanks for your pictures and updates!

Susan
Yay for kicking the virus and knuckes from Gracie and the White family. Hope she starts eating soon so you can just get rid of the stinking tube altogether.
