Next week

We will be traveling to Minnesota next week for Rylie's 6-month check-up. We can't believe it has ONLY been 6 months since her transplant. It seems like a lifetime ago. She's doing so great, but we are still praying for no surprises after her tests and procedures next week. Here's our schedule:

Monday we meet with Dr. Orchard (the BMT doc) and the cardiologist. Rylie will have an echocardiogram that day as well. All kids with Hurlers are followed by a cardiologist. So far Rylie's heart looks strong with little damage from MPS.

Tuesday we report early for surgery. Rylie will have a lumbar puncture, brain MRI, her hernia repaired, and her Hickman catheter will be removed!

Wednesday we have nothing scheduled.

Thursday we meet with Dr. Bjoraker for Rylie's neuropsych testing.

We are flying home on Thursday afternoon.

If everything looks good, they will start to taper Rylie's CSA drug, and she could be off by Christmas! Once Rylie is off the drug, she can start building a normal immune system again, and maybe Rylie can start music class in the spring. We're still waiting for T-cells, but that can take a year to come back after the chemo. Hopefully Rylie's body starts growing those quickly.

Fantastic news-great pics. We are thinking about you every day and you are close to our hearts all ways!

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
