Yesterday's procedures

Rylie did a great job yesterday during her sedation. Her airways behaved, she got brand new ear tubes, and four caps on her teeth. Before we went to the hospital we talked about the surgery with Rylie, and she kept saying, "No sleep, no bed." She really didn't want anything to do with the hospital bed. The child-life specialist did a great job telling Rylie about the procedure and what was going to happen before the doctors came. I think it helped a little, but it was still scary for her.

The anaesthesiologist said that Rylie's airways were exactly as he expected (small and tight). He took a video of her airways to have on file, so he can compare to future procedures. He says he has a healthy respect for MPS airways. We're glad to have someone with experience in the area. We recently found out that Rylie's neuropsych doctor from Minnesota (Dr. Kendra Bjorker) has taken a position at our Children's Hospital here in Denver. We're thrilled to have her here. Now if we could move those ortho doctors here.... :)

Thank you for all the prayers for Rylie!

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
