A number of things

I took Rylie in to the clinic today because her ear started to ooze a little yesterday. She didn't let it bother her a bit though, and she impressed both of her therapists this morning (before her clinic appointment). They were very encouraged by the sounds she was making and how active she was compared to her other therapy sessions--thank you, thyroid meds. Rylie also loves her therapists because they give her so much attention. She tries to show them everything she knows and she is really happy at their responses. Now back to the clinic appointment. Since Ry doesn't have a fever and is not bothered by the oozing from her ear, they prescribed ear drops and told me to let them know if anything changes. They looked at her rash again, and it does seem like it might be a reaction from the CSA taper and is likely a tad bit of GVHD. It is very similar to the rash she was getting back at day +20ish. They prescribed the same awful cream that they did back then, and before her nap I smeared it on her and she screamed like she did back at day +20. Poor Rylie! But the alternative is a nasty disease that is hard to control. We'll take the cold cream please. Ry's scalp is still pretty red and dry, so we'll continue with the shampoo which doesn't seem to be helping but seems to be our best option at this point. If Rylie's rashes don't get better, I think the doctor will want to do a biopsy of her skin to confirm GVHD, but I pray it doesn't get to that point. We're going to give the cream and shampoo time to work and pray that this is just a very temporary issue.

Tonight we're taking Rylie to the zoo lights. I can't wait to see her reaction to the lights that are shaped as zoo animals. Two of her favorite things: lights and animals!

What cream is it that you're using? We've figured out that Gracie's rashes are just dry/sensitive skin and not GVHD, thank goodness. We're praying against GVHD for Ry andwe know she can overcome it like everything else.

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
