More good news

I went to the store and got Rylie more milk boxes, but I tried 2% cow's milk instead of rice milk. So far she has passed my test and doesn't seem to be allergic to milk anymore!!! (Before transplant she would have thrown up if she had that much cow's milk.) I tried 2% instead of whole milk, because I'm pretty sure the thickness of whole milk would discourage her from drinking since she's been used to thin rice milk.

Another new thing for Rylie is juice boxes. I'm thrilled! The last two days she has had one whole juice box without me forcing it through a syringe. That's almost 7 oz. of juice. She likes to drink water through a straw now, so she is on her way to meeting our fluid-intake goals. Answered prayers! We haven't put the nose tube back in for several weeks now, and I don't plan to if she keeps this up.

I made roasted tomato soup yesterday with carrots and celery, and Rylie ate two small bowls. This is huge for her since she has always refused to eat anything I pureed for her. I'd love to get her off of baby food, and it looks like she is more open to my goal now. Go Rylie!

Thanks for all your encouragement. It's fun to have so many Rylie fans.

I was kicking myself for not checking in more recently, but now I think I'll wait a couple weeks every time as Miss Rylie has made such great strides! How exciting! We're so happy for you all and look forward to more good news. Give that sweet girl a big hug for us. -j&k

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
