Evaluation day

Today we had two therapist come in to watch Rylie play to see if she qualifies for therapy through the school district. After the meeting they decided to set up Rylie for occupational therapy (OT) every other week and speech every other week. With this program, the OT works on gross motor skills like a PT does. It will be nice to only have one therapy a week for now. If we need to add more sessions, we can, but this is a good start. I think the best thing for Rylie will just be spending time in a normal environment. She's already made great strides. This weekend she started to stand up from sitting by herself (she used to have to crawl to the couch or chair to pull herself up in order to stand). We were so happy to see her do it, and she just looked at us like, "What? I've been doing this forever."

Rylie has been eating a little bit more, but just not enough to get rid of the tube. She did find a new favorite baby food! Pasta Dinner! At least it has 20 more calories than a jar of the apples and blueberries she used to choose.

We have our next appointment at Children's on Wednesday. Other than that, we're planning a quiet week.

Hi! Interesting to learn about Rylie's eval and the resources for you to tap into. Also good to hear Ry is making developmental gains and catching up fast.
love and prayers, l&B

Go Rylie!!! Pretty soon you'll have mom and dad chasing you around the house and yard...what fun! And Pasta Dinners are great -- yummmiee! (Jade, if you start finding pasta on your shoulder, then you two might have to have serious discussion!)
Good to read about all the reports and progress! Love, hugs and, of course, knuckles -- Jo & Leonard

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
