No fair

Rylie has had a fever and just feels pretty blah. The doctor has postponed surgery until Thursday since starting immunosuppressant drugs when you have a virus isn't ideal. Luckily, her transplant is cord blood, so the timing isn't critical like it would be for bone marrow. It looks like the transplant would now take place on Wednesday, April 2.

Unfortunately, we haven't been to the indoor water park or the famed Mall of America since Rylie has been sick. It doesn't seem fair that Rylie would have to feel so rotten before going into the hospital to feel rotten. I'll try not to complain though. :)

In the mean time, Lyle and I have been drinking water, taking our vitamins, washing our hands, and praying that we won't get this bug. We really don't want to get sick while Rylie is going through the transplant process since it will restrict our contact with her.

Thanks to everyone for your caring postings and e-mails. We love to get them.

HI,
I am so sorry to hear about the delay. I hope we didn't give you anything! :( Waiting is so hard!! I read through all your posts and it looks like Rylie is doing good through everything. She is a cutie and you two seem like awesome parents! I hope we can become good friends while we are here at the U. Take care and know that we are praying for you daily.

P.S. This is the 3rd time I have tried to leave a comment and so I hope that you don't all of a sudden end up with three!! :)

Hi guys!

Shoot! I'm sorry to hear things are getting started off this way! We'll certainly pray that Rylie feels better soon and that you and Lyle don't get sick at all while Rylie's undergoing treatment.

We're thinking of you!

Love,
The Wards

Hi, thanks so much for sending the updates. Rylie's blog is at the top of my "favorites list". I wish I could send you a video of me cheering Rylie's first steps! I celebrate everytime I watch it! HPL librarians are praying for Rylie too. Love you all, 3D

Grandad Larry and Granny B are glad to be in Minneapolis to start hanging out with you! Glad Rylie has shaken that fever thing and is on track for Thursday. Someone should have videoed us in Target this morning as she walked the rows and examined all things at her eye level! She is a careful shopper! L&B

Oh...we hope Rylie recovers quickly and that you and Lyle are able to steer clear of it! Love and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear that the "schedule has changed" -- know it's difficult when you are trying to be mentally prepared for one scenario! At least surgery and the transplant were kept pretty much on track with just a few adjustments.

Hope Rylie continues to get better and that everyone else stays healthy!

Love ya!

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
