We're in

The Ronald McDonald House had a room ready for us late this afternoon. Only two twin beds and a crib for Rylie in the closet, so we can't help but laugh. We may ask tomorrow to be put on a list for a room with a double bed. Wish us luck.

Today's appointments went well. We talked with the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) doctor this morning and then labs and a few other tests after that. Rylie did a great job giving as much blood for the labs as needed. Although I'm dreading the surgery to replace her Hickman catheter that is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, it will be nice not to have Rylie poked for every lab or infusion.

Right now Rylie is scheduled to be admitted into the hospital next Tuesday for her catheter placement. The next day she will start to receive the drugs to prepare her for the transplant. She'll receive her cord blood on March 31. She'll have to be in the hospital for at least 28 days after the transplant in order to give her body time to build up some white blood cells.  If at that point things look good, she'll be able to be released to the RMH to stay with us, although she'll still be in isolation until her immune system is somewhat back to normal.

Hi guys!

We're so glad a room opened up at the RMH! We hope all the tests have gone ok thus far. I know you guys aren't looking forward to any of this -- it really is no fun! :( But you guys are such wonderful, godly parents and are doing the very best thing for precious Rylie! We continue to lift you all up in prayer daily and trust God is going to do amazing things in Rylie!

Love and blessings,
The Wards

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
