Surgery scheduled tomorrow

We're still in Minneapolis, and Rylie is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. to get her catheter replaced (the one that was inserted in January fell out over a month ago). The Hickman catheter is a tube that the surgeon inserts under the skin into Rylie's blood stream in order to give the doctors easy access to draw blood, give infusions, and eventually give the cord blood that has the enzyme she is missing. Yea! After this surgery, Rylie will have no more pokes, we hope.

If we can schedule Rylie's ERT soon, we're planning to travel to KC to see our family for a bit until we get the insurance issue sorted out. It will be nice to have a change of scenery.

Please pray for Rylie's safety tomorrow when she is sedated for the surgery.

We're most definitely praying for Rylie's surgery tomorrow! I sure hope things can be worked out with the insurance company very soon! This has to be so incredibly frustrating -- I can't even imagine! I know the clock is ticking and that's probably not helping your stress level! Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to help!

Blessings to you all!

Love,
The Wards

I can't imagine two more thoughtful decision-makers than the two of you. Rylie is so blessed to have you. And I'm confident that this is a case of timing we just can't understand but some day will. After all, it's Jade who has taught me to believe in the improbable... and to do so proudly. I am making it a point to petition God regularly and I would petition some place else if I knew where to turn... consider me one of your countless lobbyists. All my love. RJ

Oh I wish you could come on down to Siloam Springs for a few days! We're only 4 hours from KC :-)

...always thinking about you and praying, praying, praying,

Jules

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
