Rylie is developing a rash on her arms and feet which the doctor thinks in the beginning of Graft vs. Host Disease (GHD). GHD is what happens when the donor's cells try to fight against their new home––in this case Rylie's body. The doctor doesn't seem worried yet, since GHD can range from mild to severe. It can be something that is an issue for the first 100 days after transplant, or something that is an issue for years to come (sigh). Right now all the doctor has prescribed is some topical cream for the area. We ask for everyone to pray against GHD for Rylie. It can be life-threatening, and we'd rather not go down the path of dealing with this disease.
Rylie's WBC count was again 0.2 today. To us, it seems like slow growth, but the doctor actually says Rylie is ahead of the curve on average WBC counts. I guess that is good to know. He told me that by day +23 we should see some considerable growth. Then Rylie might be able to fight this potential virus she has. She is still spiking fevers and feeling pretty rotten. This morning she really perked up and played a little in bed. It was such a blessing to see her smile and chat a little again.
Thanks again for all the prayers.

Proverbs 3:5–8
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."

Gary and Deb are praying that there is no increase of the rash and that the WBC's grow and grow. We are with you every day! we send our love..
you two are wonderful, loving parents, you are strong and doing it day by day. love, sarah
Lyle, Jade, and Rylie,
I think of you three often. Hope that the white blood count continues to grow. Your courage and love is an inspiration to all of us who have been following along with Rylie's health.
Thanks for explaining Rylie's tests and desired results so clearly. You both are excellent writers/bloggers. Your explanations then make it easier for me to picture, and thus hope and pray, in more exact terms.
