Day +26

We're still feeling the relief of Saturday's news, but Rylie isn't near as excited as we are. We have to remember everything she has gone through and how it just takes time to heal. Rylie still doesn't feel like sitting up or trying to walk or play out of bed. She has been in bed for over two weeks now. Rylie's counts are slow to grow, but she is continuing to make progress. Today her WBC is 1.3 and her ANC is 0.6. This evening we took her on a walk in my arms in the hall. She was amazed by the pictures on the wall, and she kept pointing to different things she wanted to look at. It was the best we've seen her out of bed in weeks. We'll try the wagon tomorrow!

More good news: Rylie's abdomen CT scan results came back negative. But Rylie continues to spike fevers. Please pray against the fevers, since the doctors won't even talk about Rylie getting to go back to the RMH until her fevers have stopped. They have been looking for the cause of the fevers for several weeks now, but every test has come back negative. We wonder if it might be a reaction to one of the antibiotics she is on right now, but the doctors want to wait to pull her off of the antibiotics until her counts are a little higher.

I'm scheduled to take a class on Wednesday on how to hook up Rylie's TPN. TPN is the food drip that she is on until she feels like eating again. Rylie did ask for Sweet Potato & Chicken Dinner today and took a couple bites. Her first solid food in almost a month. Once we get the fevers figured out, we should be really close to having a green light to head across the street to the RMH. We've heard from other parents that the next phase will have its own set of challenges, but we're looking forward to getting Rylie to her Minnesota home.

Awesome news! Gracie went around in the wagon tonight too and she loved every second of it! :) We took 2 laps and both times we waved at your door down there and it took everything we had to not knock on your door. :)

I've been so excited about Rylie's good news! However, in my excitement, I must be missing a step and my comments aren't being accepted. I hope this blog doesn't discriminate because it thinks I'm a Cornhusker. I still cheer for the Wildcats!

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
