Today's counts

Rylie's numbers are great today! 2.7 WBC and 1.6 ANC. The liver counts are heading in the right direction as well, and she is looking a little more like herself and less like a yellow squash, an adorable yellow squash that is. Now if only those temp numbers would decline . . .

Yesterday's wagon ride was a failure. I was so careful to make sure we got Rylie comfortable in the wagon with pillows and blankets and make sure we had her mask and all her tubes and IV pole, but I forgot an important ingredient. The pacifier under the mask. Anyway, once we got in the hall, I realized it wasn't going to work. I picked her up and we took a walk around the nurses station instead of the wagon ride. Ah well, we'll try again today maybe. I'll make sure we have her paci.

Great news! So glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. Good luck with the wagon ride tomorrow, and remember that paci!

Way to go, Rylie! You know, a cuddly Mommy ride might be better than a wagon ride anyway. So glad she's (and you are!) able to get a little change of scenery. Take care, all.

Hi Guys,

My name is Sarah Freund (Kim's sister-in-law). I'm a nurse in the PICU at Children's Mercy in KC. Just wanted to say that we've been following your blog and I'm so happy to read that things are going so well and it sounds like you may be close to being outpatients soon!

Many prayers from KC,
Sarah

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
