Day +50 (can you believe it?)
Rylie's numbers today are great. 6.9 WBC (the highest since transplant) and 4.5 ANC (pretty close to the highest). We're happy to see Rylie making cells on her own without the help of the growth factor drug. She is still on cyclosporin, so her immune system won't be back to normal for awhile. The doctors say it usually takes a year to get a more "normal" immune system.
The doctor actually turned down some of Rylie's oxygen today. She's needing a little less! I'm still concerned, because she is still on the hi-flow machine and things can change pretty fast, we've learned. She is so active today though, so I'm hoping she's turned the corner. We just want Rylie to be back to normal again and not needing any oxygen help.
Thanks, everyone.

Proverbs 3:5–8
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."

hurry back, little friend. Gracie wants you to come to her birthday party!
So happy to hear her numbers are climbing!!! Bummer that her immune system is going to take so long to kick into gear. Let's hope God shortens that time!!!

Wonderful numbers - great news! It's natural for us to want to hurry the healing process. The doctors words about Rylie's immune system returning to normal helps us not to expect too much so soon. Rylie's teaching all of us to be more patient!! Love you -
Those numbers mean good things are happening, and the fighter cells are growing so they can wipe out the lung gunk. (Zach helped me with the technical terms, here.) So glad to hear Rylie had an afternoon to play. We are thinking about you constantly. Maybe we'll make stroller retrieval our adventure for the day - contained kids + time passage = happy mom. :) BOB's coming to MN soon.
PS - Great work on the 1/2-way point. Better to get all that doctorin' stuff out of the way early. Then you can come back to CO and just chill. (Or roast, if it doesn't get any cooler around here.)
