Waiting

Day +47

Just wanted to let everyone know that Rylie is holding steady. She's still on the hi-flow machine, and her respiratory is about the same as yesterday. The pulmonary doctor and the attending doctor agreed that it would be wise to wait again for a possible bronchoscopy. If Rylie starts to get worse, they'll need to do the bronch in order to find out for sure what is causing the infection (bacteria, fungus, or extra fluid) to make sure they are treating for it. In the meantime, they have put her on some broad antibiotics and antifungal to cover some of the more common reasons for infection in the lungs. Right now we're going to wait and see how Rylie responds to the drugs and the oxygen she is on right now.

Rylie's WBCs and ANCs are also holding steady: 3.3 WBC and 2.2 ANC.

We'll update again soon.

Proverbs 3:5–8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
